Four Students Place at North Museum Science Fair

On Wednesday, March 22 four LCHS students, accompanied by Mrs. Bleistine, participated in the North Museum Science & Engineering Fair. All four students received an award or honorable mention at the event.

Daniel Baksh placed first in the Biomedical & Health field with a project titled "Cannabinoid Receptor Expressing in Human Papillom Virus-Induced Head and Neck Sqaumos Cell Carcinoma" while Yuxuan (Albert) Ye placed 3rd in the Energy-Chemical field with his project titled "Lighting Up the Night by Vibrations".

Honorable mention awards included Johann Imperial's Chemistry & Materials project titled "Biofilm Inhibition on Slippery Liquid-Nonotography Interface" and Olivia Gallucci's Earth & Environmental project titled "Earthquakes - The Effect of Rift Valley Temperatures on the Velocity of Earthquakes". Johann Imperial also won two auxiliary awards.
