Catholic High Wins Regional Math Competition

Lancaster Catholic High School claimed the top team and individual honors in the 2017 Harrisburg Area Community College Mathematics Competition.

All three individuals finished in the top 10 and the Crusaders earned the top overall score, claiming first place among 26 teams in the south-central region, including Bishop McDevitt High School, Hempfield High School, Lancaster Mennonite School and Manheim Township High School.

Senior Lennon Lu won the individual competition with the highest score, while junior Cherie Chen claimed second place. Sophomore Robert Wang finished tied for 10th place.

This year’s contest was held at three different HACC campuses, and each student competed electronically between the Gettysburg, Harrisburg and Lancaster campuses. This was the first year that Lancaster Catholic participated in the event.
