Transportation
According to section 1361 of the Public School Code, school districts are to provide out of district funds for the free transportation of any resident pupil to and from the public or non-public, non-profit kindergarten, elementary school or secondary school in which the public is lawfully enrolled, provided that such school is located within the school district boundaries or not more than 10 miles outside the district boundaries by the nearest public highway.
Transportation is not required for students living within 2 miles of Lancaster Catholic High School. Such transportation of non-public school pupils shall be provided during regular school hours and on such dates and periods that the non-public school is in regular session, in accordance with the school calendar officially adopted by the non-public school authorities. Moreover, transportation to the non-public school shall be provided on each day such school is in regular session according to is adopted calendar whether the public schools of the district are or are not in regular session on that day.
Variances from hours of regular sessions occurring in daily time schedules for transportation of pupils to and from non-public schools may not exceed variances from hours of regular school sessions occurring in daily time schedules for transportation of pupils to and from public schools.
