Invested Leadership

In allegiance with our school mission and guided by our core values, The Lancaster Catholic High School Department of Fine & Performing Arts seeks to positively expand life-enhancing experiences though the arts, inspire innovative thinking, intellectual curiosity, and the pursuit of lifelong learning and advocacy by providing opportunities in the arts for all students.

A Message from Tim Hamer, President

The arts communicate the fact that neither words din their literal form no numbers exhaust what we can know. The limits of our language do not define the limits of our minds.

The arts teach students to know and value the divine spark that unites and ennobles all humanity and provides glimpses of the universal experiences of love, beauty, courage, faith and sorrow that often raise sights and inspire greatness.

Leaning in the arts requires the ability and a willingness to surrender to the unanticipated possibilities of the work as it unfolds.

The arts enable us to have experiences we can have from no other source and through such experiences to discover the range and variety of what we are capable of feeling.

Live Jesus!

A Message from Terry Klugh, Principal

LCHS believes the Fine & Performing Arts are an essential part of a Catholic-based education. Through the arts, students learn expression of themselves and their faith. They acquire an understanding of both past and present cultures plus a realization of how these cultures are relevant to the world in which they currently live.

The Fine & Performing Arts are valued for integrating the mind, body, and spirit - educating the whole person. Students learn the importance of both independence and collaboration as they realize the process of learning is as important as its content.

The Fine & Performing Arts allows students to appreciate our creative God in nature and how to utilize different areas of their creativity. In this creative expression, the arts are both universal and culturally specific, serving as a powerful means of increasing a student's international and intercultural awareness.

As a creative expression, the Fine & Performing Arts encourage growth in self-esteem, risk-taking, and sharpen skills in the mastery of many techniques and mediums.

Sincerely,

Terry Klugh, Principal
