An effective education draws upon the timeless lessons of the past while integrating the advances of new technology. At Lancaster Catholic, we embrace the classic approaches of dialogue and debate, small group discussions and lecture, presentations and projects. At the same time, we make full use of the technological advances available to students and teachers today. All classrooms are equipped with an interactive Smartboard. In 2014, we launched our One-to-One technology initiative enabling all students to be issued an iPad or Chromebook that is incorporated into the classroom activities.
Other resources include our computer lab, PC's and laptops in the library, expanded electronic resources for research, online textbooks, distance learning courses, 3 fully integrated technology enabled active learning classrooms, a broadcasting room with cameras and video editing equipment, and a digital photography lab.
Our Theology Department incorporates digital citizenship and internet safety into its curriculum at all grade levels. As we embrace technology, we are mindful of the responsibility to teach our youth how to use it with respect and dignity.
