Transfer Tuition Grant Available for Incoming Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors

Students who transfer from a public or private school into 10th, 11th, or 12th grade can qualify to receive a Transfer Tuition Grant. The student will receive $2,000 in their first year and $1,000 in their second year.

 

The Details: 

 
Students who are accepted for entrance to LCHS in 10th through 12th grade and thus are transferring from another school in the region (i.e. counties included in the boundaries of the Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg) are eligible to receive an annual tuition reduction during their first two years of enrollment.
 
The full program guidelines are below:
  • The Tuition Transfer Grant applies only to students entering 10th through 12th grade who transfer from:
    • Any other school in the region
    • Homeschool
  • In the first year of enrollment, families eligible for the Tuition Transfer Grant would receive:
    • $2,000 tuition reduction.
  • In their second year of enrollment (applies only to 10th and 11th-grade students) families eligible for the Tuition Transfer Grant would receive:
    • $1,000 tuition reduction.
  • The Tuition Transfer Grant will accrue and be applied in equal monthly increments from September to June for students who remain enrolled and current with tuition payments. The grants apply only to tuition charges for eligible, currently enrolled students at Lancaster Catholic High School and are not transferable nor redeemable in cash.

Cook
To honor the memory of Dennis M. Cook '86 who perished at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, his loving family has established a scholarship at Lancaster Catholic High School. If selected, and provided the student maintains standards, the Dennis M. Cook '86 Scholar will receive a renewable, four-year scholarship* at Catholic High that completely meets the student's financial need.

The scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman student who has shown an aptitude for studies, has made a positive impact in his/her current school and/or community, and has a strong personal desire for a Lancaster Catholic education but lacks the financial resources necessary to pay tuition. 
 
This student will endeavor to maintain at least a “B” average while involving himself/herself in the school community by participating in a minimum of one extra-curricular activity.

The recipient of the Dennis M. Cook '86 Memorial Scholarship will be selected by Mrs. Judith G. Cook, Dennis' mother, in consultation with LCHS personnel. Students interested in applying for the Dennis M. Cook '86 Memorial Scholarship must submit an essay describing the following:
  • Why he/she would like to attend Catholic High
  • What extra-curricular activity/activities he/she might pursue during their time at Catholic High
  • How the student plans to make a positive impact on the Catholic High community
  • Why the student feels he/she would make a good candidate for this award
The length of the essay is at the discretion of the applicant. There is not a minimum or maximum word requirement, although the student should clearly and succinctly cover the above criteria in the essay.
 
*A renewable four-year scholarship means that the scholarship will continue for four years provided that the student meets the standards of the scholarship requirements and remains an upstanding representative of the memorial scholarship.
 
All students applying for this scholarship MUST apply for financial aid through the online Simple Tuition Solutions application. Scholarships applications can be submitted in your Admissions Portal by Tuesday, February 1st for consideration.

Neumann Scholarship

The Michael P. McMahon Scholarship for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has been established by his family and friends. It will be made available to any Lancaster Catholic High School (LCHS) student or alumni who wishes to pursue an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) or Paramedic Certification. 


Michael graduated from LCHS (1993) and immediately began his career as an EMT. It was while working as an EMT that Michael developed a passion for health care and emergency medical services. This passion motivated him to pursue his paramedic certification. While he was a student, he was surrounded by great faculty who fostered his love of learning and recognized his potential. 


In Michael’s own words from a note that was recently found, “I am so grateful I attended Paramedic school. It was the best thing I have ever done. In addition to learning a skill I can always use, I grew as a person. I learned discipline, planning, gained self-confidence and assertiveness and I am very proud and love what I do.”


Michael’s work as a paramedic inspired him to go on and pursue many additional degrees; including several Master’s degrees. Michael’s professional signature – Michael P. McMahon, CRNP, MSN, RN, CEN, PHRN, EMT-P was impressive, but the last intials were the key to his success. He went on to become an educator and always encouraged others to achieve their dreams. 


We lost Michael to colon cancer on October 1, 2021. Before he left us, he completed his studies for his Nurse Practioner degree. He was an extraordinary human being who made a huge difference. He loved what he did and along the way encouraged others to challenge themselves and actualize their potential.

Scholarship Objective

The Scholarship Committee wishes to recognize those pursuing a rewarding opportunity in service to the community as an Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Paramedic. This scholarship has been developed to encourage individuals to pursue opportunities to grow their personal skills in an extraordinarily necessary and rewarding career providing critical support to the community. 

 

Awards

The Committee is offering several scholarships in 2023 covering tuition up to $7,500.00 for an EMT program, Advanced EMT Program, or Paramedic Program. 

 

Criteria

  • Applicant must be a current student or a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. 
  • Applicant must confirm acceptance into an approved EMT or Paramedic program before the scholarship award will be released to the program of the applicant’s choice. 

 

Selection Process

  • Selections are made annually and will be determined by the Scholarship Committee based upon an impartial review of the applications. 
  • The application process is between January 1, 2023, and March 15, 2023.
  • Applicants selected for the Scholarship will be notified by Friday, May 19, 2023.

  1. Prepare your application early so that all parts of the application can be submitted as a single attachment to an email sent on or before the March 15, 2023 deadline. The Scholarship Committee will not consider incomplete or late applications. Please take the time to make sure you have all the required documents before submitting your Application Packet.  
  2. Please scan the application and all parts of the application into in a single .pdf file. Please include your scanned application file as a single attachment to your application email.

Letter of Recommendation (attachment 2)
