Its called Guns Down, Drums Up, but there is no chance that those who turned out Thursday night for a new program at Crispus Attucks Community Center had violence on their minds. The five boys, ages 6 to 13, just wanted to play drums.
The drum-teaching and music-reading program is a partnership between the community center, Lancaster Catholic High School, and Lancaster Bible College. And for nearly two hours, Tony Brill, director of Fine & Performing Arts at LCHS, and Lancaster Bible College sophomore Ethan Miller showed kids the basics in the center's basement cafeteria.
