Challenging concepts are explored in fun, interactive ways. This summer, favorite camps are being offered again and new camps are being introduced!
- Summer Chess Exploration: Choices, Pawn-chains and Checkmates (9 AM – 12 PM, June 18-21) Campers: grades 4-7. Location: The Conference and Training Center at IU13 (Burle Business Park) What’s better than 4 mornings of chess?
- Centripetal Circus for Beginners (9 AM – 12 PM, June 25-28) Campers: grades 3-5. Location: The Conference and Training Center at IU13 (Burle Business Park) Hula hoops, circus skills, poems and math!
- NEW! Robot Rescue Mission (9 AM – 12 PM, June 25-28) Campers: grades 6-8. Location: The Conference and Training Center at IU13 (Burle Business Park) Building, programming, lots of LEGOS!
- Camp Invention® FAST FORWARD (9 AM – 3:30 PM, July 9-13) Campers: grades 1-6. Location: The Conference and Training Center at IU13 (Burle Business Park) The Launchpad for imagination!
- Invention Project III® (9 AM – 3:00 PM, July 9-13) Campers: grades 6-8. Location: The Conference and Training Center at IU13 (Burle Business Park) Make the impossible possible!
- NEW! Animals in the Wild (9 AM – 12 PM, July 17-19) Campers: grades 3-5. Location: Lancaster County Environmental Center. Animal tracking, owl pellets, beaks, fur and more!
- NEW! Survival in the Wilderness (9 AM – 12:30 PM, July 23-26) Campers: grades 6-8. Location: Lancaster County Park’s Pavilion #11. Teamwork, problem solving, outdoor fun!
- New! Centripetal Circus Intensive (9 AM – 3:30 PM, August 1-2) Campers: grades 3-6. Location: The Conference and Training Center at IU13 (Burle Business Park) Literature, math, physics and theater for Centripetal Circus alumni!
- Jump In! Exploring the Science & Fun of H2O (9 AM – 3:30 PM, July 30-August 2) Campers: grades 4-7. Location: Lancaster County Environmental Center. Come jump in the creek to explore!
We are looking for responsible student volunteers who would be good role models and engage with all campers in a positive way while embracing the guidance offered by camp instructors and IU13 staff.

As required by law, background clearances will be necessary, but costs are minimal for those volunteering. IU13 will be happy to verify your service hours for school or club requirements.

What is Camp Invention? Since 1990, Camp Invention has taken summer fun and transformed it from
ordinary to extraordinary! Local educators lead the week of hands-on activities created especially for
ordinary to extraordinary! Local educators lead the week of hands-on activities created especially for
elementary school children entering grades 1-6. Boys and girls will explore the technology behind self-
driving cars, design futuristic dream homes with smart furniture and smart energy, and build a robotic

dog. And there is more...but all lessons explore connections between science, technology, engineering
and innovation.

Camp Dates: Monday-Friday, July 9-13, 2018 (8:30 AM – 3:40 PM)
Camp Prep Day: Friday, July 6, 2018 (9 AM – 12 PM)
Stipend: $150.00 for new interns; $175 for returning interns
*You may also volunteer for observation/volunteer hours for college or for community service hours for school requirements.
*IU13 can offer a letter of recommendation for a job well done.

Strong, responsible leadership interns are vital for the success of our camp. We are looking for students who will engage with all campers in a positive way while embracing the guidance offered by Camp Invention directors and teachers. We look for motivated, enthusiastic interns who can help make the camp fun and educational for all campers.
