Collegiate Athletics

Student-athletes who are interested in eventually participating in collegiate sports at the Division I or Division II levels must meet minimum requirements established by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Along with posting minimum score requirements on the SAT or ACT, student-athletes also need to achieve a minimum core course GPA of at least a 2.3 for Division I and Division II schools. This core course GPA is calculated by the NCAA by using course grades from the list of NCAA approved core courses.

All student-athletes who play at the Division I or Division II level must complete 16 core course credits, 10 of which must be completed before senior year begins. Division III colleges do not follow the academic guidelines of the NCAA Eligibility Center.

For a list of Lancaster Catholic's NCAA approved core courses, please visit the NCAA Eligibility Center High School Portal and enter Lancaster Catholic's NCAA school code (392100).

All students who plan on playing a sport at the college level should register with the NCAA in the summer prior to their senior year. To register, or for more information about NCAA requirements, please visit the NCAA Eligibility Center website.
