2024 Graduation Info

Dear Parents/Guardians/Host Families,
Congratulations on your senior's upcoming graduation! To prepare for this important and dignified ceremony, we have enclosed your senior's schedule for the last week of school. This schedule includes the times for practices, as well as our Awards Ceremony, Baccalaureate, and Graduation. Baccalaureate will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church (Lancaster) and Graduation will be held at LCHS Stadium (weather permitting). Attendance at ALL practices and events is MANDATORY!

To maintain a respectful and positive atmosphere throughout these last days of school, we are asking for your assistance in the following:

a) Please ensure that your graduate is on time for each practice and event. We will not begin until all graduates are present. (See schedule for specifics.)

b) Please ensure that your graduate is appropriately dressed for all practices and events (see schedule.) Student dress will be reviewed prior to each practice/event to ensure that they are appropriately dressed. Please follow the dress code in the Student Handbook. Please note that no adornments or additions should be made to the academic dress, which includes no decorations or words added to the graduation cap. Should you have any questions regarding attire prior to the first practice, please email Mrs. Sharp at [email protected]. Proper event attire for Awards Ceremony, Baccalaureate, and Graduation is as follows:

Ladies:
Modest, light-colored dresses should be worn. Dresses should reflect the dignity of our upstanding young women, and should not be too short, too tight, or too revealing when the academic gown is being worn. Midriffs, and back should not be exposed, and tattoos must not be visible. Strapless dresses are NOT permitted, and the length should be at least at the fingertips. As the ladies will be wearing a light-colored academic gown, please avoid bold patterns or dark colors that will show through the gown. Dresses should also not extend below the gown. We ask that ladies wear WHITE, off-white or cream-colored shoes. If graduation is held indoors, keep in mind that there are stairs. Flip flops, beachwear, sneakers, or canvas shoes are NOT permitted. If graduation is held at the stadium, we ask that ladies do NOT wear spiked heels. (This will damage the field.) Chunky heels, wedges, or flats are best.

Ladies, hair should be neat and of natural color, NOT (pink, purple, blue, green, etc.)

Gentlemen:
A white button-down dress shirt (top button buttoned!), school tie, and school-regulated (LCHS) khakis must be worn. Dress shoes (black or brown) must also be worn. (No sneakers.) This is for both Baccalaureate and Graduation.

Gentlemen MUST be clean-shaven. Hair MUST NOT hang over the eyes or the ears and MUST be off the collar. Hair must also be of natural color. This will be checked at the first practice.

For Practices: Graduates may dress casually. No short shorts. (Please refer to the handbook.)

Note: Graduates who do not adhere to these rules will be at risk of not walking at graduation.

Information to know:

a) Caps and gowns are distributed to those seniors who are academically eligible to graduate. If you received your cap and gown, please remove it from the bag and hang it up to remove the wrinkles. Do NOT  launder or iron your gown!

b) Photographs will be taken of each graduate receiving their diploma. Information on how to get these photos will be posted on our website. Please do not take photos on the field.

c) A professional videographer has been contracted to record the graduation ceremony and can be downloaded free of cost. The ceremony will also be live-streamed for those not in attendance. A link will be posted on our website prior to the ceremony.

d) Two (2) tickets will be given to each graduate for Baccalaureate (St. Anthony's). Ten (10) tickets will be given to each graduate for Graduation. There will be handicap seating for those needing it, (call the Main Office to reserve a handicap seat). Handicap parking will be on the home side of the stadium.

e) Please be reminded that smoking is NOT permitted on school property. This includes vape pens and cigars!

Of special note......

At Lancaster Catholic High School, the events leading to graduation and the ceremony itself are a special culmination of four years of hard work and memories. We treasure this time with our seniors and plan for events that are formal, uplifting, and joyous. The vast majority of our families appreciate the solemnity and significance of these events. Let us show our love and support for our seniors by giving them the immense respect their graduation deserves. Each graduate will enjoy their moment of glory and then, together celebrate the graduating Class of 2024! With this being said, we ask that you refrain from any cheering, hollering, and applause until after the last graduate's name has been called.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding anything in this letter, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
