Evaluating Information

When doing school projects you are surrounded by information.  The immediate access to websites does not make your work easier, in fact it may make it more difficult because there may be thousands and thousands of websites available on your topic.

How do you decide what sources are the best? You need to take a few minutes and evaluate the resource, whether it is a print resource, an electronic resource or a website. The CRAAP Test will help.

What is CRAAP? It stands for Currency -- Relevance -- Authority -- Accuracy -- Purpose.

Library Skills students will review the CRAAP handout for the criteria under each term. A copy of this handout is available at the bottom of this page.
