Weather Related Flexible Instruction Days

Weather-Related Flexible Instruction Days:

In an effort to best support our student learning, we have updated our FID expectations to increase direct instruction and provide more opportunities for teacher-student interaction.

When the Flexible Instruction Day is announced “A” or “B” day will be designated.

FID Virtual Schedule:
Period 1 (A/B): 8:30-9:00
Period 2 (A/B): 9:05-9:35
Period 3 (A/B): 9:40-10:10
Period 4 (A/B): 10:15-10:45

  • Teachers will post a Google Meet link for students to join the virtual class
  • Teachers will provide synchronous instruction/check-ins with students
  • Student attendance will be taken at the beginning of each period
  • In addition to the live class, teachers will be available from 11:30-1:30 via email to assist with any student concerns
  • Students scheduled for IS will be contacted by Mrs. Fink and Mrs. Miller for instructions
  • Students are to be dressed appropriately (according to casual dress guidelines)
  • Students should be in an area that is quiet and free from distractions
  • Any assignments for the day are due by 8pm
  • When a weather-related Flexible Instruction Day is called, an alert will be posted on the school website and included in the recorded phone message informing families of the cancellation. Guidelines on weather related Flexible Instruction Days will be included in the weekly Crusader Connection periodically beginning mid-November to parents and students so they are informed prior to the 1st “snow” day.
  •  If a student is legitimately sick on a Flexible Learning Day, parents will be expected to follow normal procedures for reporting illness; an excuse card for the Flexible Learning Day must be submitted by the student upon returning to school. Students will be expected to make-up the assignment per the teacher’s make-up policy.
  • Students who have reported loss of home internet connection-all assignments are to be submitted by 3:00PM the second school day after the return to school.
  •  If there is a loss of power due to the weather, this will be taken into consideration for both students and teachers. This will be monitored and adjusted upon return to school.
