  The online initial sign-up for your retreat for the         2023-2024 year has ended, but you can still sign up for a retreat and may now sign up for more than one option as well. Please email or stop by Campus Ministry for any changes to your retreat selection or to drop off deposits. 
 

QUO VADIS DAYS

Date: 6/25-6-29/23

Young men’s discernment retreat sponsored by the Diocese of Harrisburg Office of Vocations. Registration is through the Diocese. Quo Vadis Days is a time of recreation, fellowship, prayer, and discussion to help young men explore the Lord’s call. There will be priests, seminarians, and other young men gathered together for these days. Activities will include prayer (Holy Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Liturgy of the Hours, Rosary, etc.), hiking, games, bonfires, recreation, and sports (soccer, capture the flag, volleyball, swimming, Ultimate Frisbee, flag football), talks, great food, and discussions. The retreat is held at Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, MD in June. You must provide your own transportation.

 

CRUSADER LEADERSHIP RETREAT

Date: 6/19-6-21-23

A team-building, leadership-developing, spirit-lifting, faith-deepening overnight retreat for students who have been recognized by staff/coaches/moderators/administrators like those who display leadership qualities. Students are invited to develop these qualities in light of their faith, to be used in leadership and spiritual activities both inside and outside of school. Retreat activities include a challenge course, high ropes course, and opportunities for prayer, and faith development. This retreat is open to students in grades 10-12 by invitation only.

 

PA March for Live

Date:10/16/23 

The PA March for Life is a one-day event that combines prayer, Mass, music, and pubic support for Life at a Diocese-sponsored rally and march at the PA State Capital in Harrisburg. Students will gather in Campus Ministry at 8 AM and return to LCHS by 3 PM.  

 

FRESHMAN RETREAT

Date: 10/11/23

The Freshman retreat is designed to welcome our new class to the LCHS family and to begin to build class unity and is held in the fall on a regular school day. The day starts with a Mass. Students will work on team-building activities and discuss why being an active part of the school is important. They are challenged to explore and grow in their faith and begin to learn that the purpose of their education is to serve God and help proclaim the Gospel with their lives. Freshmen are highly encouraged to select a weekend/out-of-school school retreat IN ADDITION to the Freshman Retreat by filling out the enclosed form but are not required to.

 

Journey 

10/29-10/31/23

The Journey Retreat is a three-day two-night retreat based on the Lord of The Rings. Retreatants will watch the three films of this classic trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King, and discuss the catholic themes in the story. Specifically the theological virtues of faith, hope, and love. Other themes are dealing with evil, hard decisions, and friendship. While we do watch the film this is not a film study. This retreat is open to Sophomores, Juniors, and seniors. 

 

FAN THE FIRE YOUTH RALLY 

Date: 11/04/2023

Fan the Fire Youth Rally is a gathering of hundreds of teens from the mid-Atlantic region. The day consists of a Keynote talk, multiple breakout talks, praise and worship music, the opportunity for confession, a dinner concert, Holy Hour and Mass. The day is usually held on the second or third Saturday in November at St. Joseph Catholic Church, York PA. The day is open to all students and runs from about 9 AM to 5 PM  Click for More Info.

 

VISIT A SEMINARY

Date: 11/09/23

Tour of seminary facilities at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD on the first Thursday of November. This day is sponsored by the Diocese of Harrisburg Office of Vocations. Junior and Senior Catholic young men at least 16 years old will join young men from other Catholic high schools to meet seminarians, priests, and professors. A great chance to ask questions and get a glimpse into life in the seminary and as a diocesan priest. The day concludes with a free lunch at The Mount.

 

BRAVE

Date: 1/28-1/30/24
An overnight retreat experience for the sophomore ladies focused on being Bold, Reverent, Authentic, Very Good, and Empowered to live as a young woman for Christ. The retreat is led by adult staff and a team of upperclassmen.  The core of the retreat is the beautiful teaching of the Theology of the Body by St. John Paul II.  Through discussions, prayer, and activities the girls will explore the challenges and graces of living a life of Christian character, modesty, chastity, and honoring the compliment of the masculinity of their brothers in Christ.

DE SALES SERVICE WORKS (DSW)

2/22/24- 2/24/24,  3/14/24 - 3/16/24, 4/25/24-4/27/24

A three-day service experience working & worshipping alongside students in an underprivileged neighborhood of Camden, NJ. Includes travel, workdays, prayer & fun! Students participating in this trip will fulfill their retreat requirement and receive 15 Good Samaritan hours. We host three DSW retreats each year.  Open to students in grades 10-12.

 

FOURTH DAY RETREAT 

Date: 2/29-3/3/24

A follow-up for Senior KAIROS Alumni, expanding their KAIROS experience before leaving LCHS. This retreat is convenient and includes a relevant discussion to help students live and grow their faith in the years just following graduation whether they head to college or right into the workforce. This retreat is held in the spring and is open only to seniors who have been on a KAIROS.

 

KAIROS 

Dates: Kairos 49 11/18-11/21/23  50 2/8-2/11/24   51 4/11-4/14/24

An incredible four-day, three-night retreat experience led by a team of past participants (students) and faculty, that helps students either begin to explore or explore in more depth the nature of God and who they are in relation to God. They see the importance of developing a relationship with God and healthy, holy relationships with their peers, friends, and the adults in their lives. KAIROS is held three times a year, one in the fall, winter, and spring.  It is open to Juniors and Seniors.

 

MARCH FOR LIFE 

Date: 1/19/2024

This retreat option brings our faith and civic duty together in one day. Students led by faculty and staff will travel to Washington DC to join hundreds of thousands of people young and old.  The day will include one of the many youth events that are offered as options before the March and Rally begin around noon.  Details will be available in the early fall. The March for Life is open to all students. 

 

MEN AT WORK

Date: 4/04/-4/06/24

This new retreat for Sophomore boys is designed as a counterpart to the BRAVE retreat for the ladies. The boys will spend time involved in work projects, prayer, talks, and discussions that touch on some of the essential elements of the Theology of the Body by St. John Paul II.  This retreat will be limited to only 18 spots and is open to sophomore boys. 

 

IHM DAY OF DISCOVERY

This retreat opportunity is open to all girls in 9th-12th grades. Our day will consist of going to Immaculata University and spending time on campus with the Campus Minister. We will then attend Mass with the IHM Sisters at Camilla Hall.  This is an excellent opportunity to encounter firsthand the wisdom that comes from lives spent listening to and living out to the best of one’s capability the will of God.  Following Mass and fellowship with the retired Sisters, we will go visit the IHM Motherhouse and have lunch with newly professed and novice sisters. Attendees will learn about the rich history and heritage of the Sister Servants Of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

This is a full day; leaving LCHS by 8 am and returning to school by 3 pm.

2024 IN-SCHOOL RETREAT DAY 

Date: 3/27/24

This retreat will take place during the school day and is open to students in grades 10 to 12.  This retreat will touch on aspects of our theme for the year, Hope, and will include three separate tracks. The sophomores will look at assessing their life in high school at the halfway mark. The juniors will explore moving up to the first class and taking on a greater leadership role in the school.  The seniors look at the challenge of post-high school life and how to take their faith into the next phase of their lives. This retreat is held on campus, during a regular school day.
